Zunka Traditional Maharashtrian and spicy, the Zunka is considered by many as a dry version of the famous pitla. Preparation Time: 15 mins  Cooking Time: 14 mins  Total Time: 29 mins Makes 4 servings Ingredients - 1 cup besan (bengal gram flour) - 2 tbsp oil (olive oil/mustard oil/ghee/or of your choice) - 1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson) - 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) - 1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing) - 1 tsp chopped ginger (adrak) - 2 tbsp chopped green chillies - 2 tbsp chopped garlic (lehsun) - 1 cup chopped onions - 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi) - salt to taste - 1/2 cup chopped coriander (dhania) For The Tempering - 1 tbsp oil - 1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson) - 1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing) - 8 to 10 curry leaves (kadi patta) - 2 tsp chopped garlic (lehsun) - 2 dry red chillies (pandi) For Serving chawal bhakri Method 1. What is an idli? Idli or idly are a type of savoury rice cake which is made by rice soaked in water, originated from the Indian subcontinent, popular as breakfast foods in southern India and northern Sri Lanka. The cakes are made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented black lentils and rice. Idli is often enjoyed in breakfast or as a snacks with sambhar, coconut Chutney. People love to add their flavors so they like to have different Chutneys with idli like coriander chutney, tomato chutney.. etc etc. Today, I am sharing a recipe of idli which is made by cooked rice. You can use leftover rice to make idlis. Cooked rice idlis Ingredients 1 cup cooked rice (chawal) 1/2 cup urad dal (split black lentils) 1/2 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds 1 cup rice semolina (idli rawa) salt to taste For Serving sambhar coconut chutney tomato chutney Method 1.  Combine the urad dal, fenugreek seeds and water in a deep bowl and mix well. 2. A yummy upma made with Puffed rice makes for an interesting snack or breakfast recipe KURMURE KA UPMA Ingredients 10 cups puffed rice (kurmura) 2 tbsps oil 1 tsp mustard seeds ¼ cup roasted peanuts 1 medium onion, finely chopped 10-12 curry leaves 1 medium green capsicum, finely chopped  2-3 green chillies Salt to taste 1 lemon juice Method 1. Place a strainer over a bowl, put the puffed rice into the strainer and pour over it so they become moist. 2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add peanuts and onion and sauté till the onion turns translucent. Add curry leaves  and mix well. Add capsicum and mix well. 3. Finely chop green chillies and add.  Add puffed rice and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon and add and mix well. Simmer for 1-2 minutes. 4. Transfer onto a serving plate and serve hot. Watch full video here Thanks for watching our video..
